A Dark Story
I intend on playing with islands of light in dark spaces, using whatever sources of light I can get my hands on to show some details of the scene and leave the rest of it shrouded in dark mystery.
I have collected a variety of torches, LED's, lamps and lights to help me set a mood. A few weeks ago I got a few shots of the castle exterior, using battery powered tea lights to show some details of the castle. It turned out great with the exception of the background (there is none). I made an attempt with adding cloud in Photoshop but it wasn't working the way I wanted it to so I will re-shoot with a painted background.
Last week I was able to shoot scene one. It worked out very well, images will be posted shortly.

The Story
The star of my short story is a mad scientist called Dr. Mad. Accompanying Dr. Mad is a pink bunny rabbit called Test Subject.
The story is introduce with an exterior shot of a castle. It is the middle of the night and a thunder storm is brewing.
In the first scene Dr. Mad is selecting a variety of ingredients from a shelf in a dimly lit store room.
The second scene is in a dark room with a bubbling cauldron in the fore ground and a caged Test Subject (pink bunny) on a table in the background. Dr. Mad adds ingredients while stirring the contents of the cauldron. Once satisfied he feeds a sample to Test Subject.
Test Subject immediately starts to grow into a large monster, breaking the table and launching a crate of carrots (also on the table) into the cauldron.
Dr. Mads only chance of survival is to drink the potion so he too will become a large monster capable of defeating the monster rabbit. He crawls to the cauldron and drinks it.
Next scene is a slow step by step transformation (similar to the classical werewolf transformation).
Next shot is point of view from the monster rabbit looking down on Dr. Mad. The potion was tainted by the carrots and instead of changing to a monster he has become a giant half man half carrot.
Cuts to final scene of the castle exterior as a scream calls out into the night.

Greetings.
This is my first entry for a subject I am doing at Charles Darwin University called Introductory Studio. This blog (which I should have started much earlier) will be accompanying the final assignment, giving background and behind the scenes information.
The final assignment is a 2 min stop animation movie with the theme 'Change'.
